Delete your Lyken account

Delete it yourself, in the app

Sign in at lyken.dev or in the Lyken Android app, then go to Settings and scroll to the Danger zone. Choose Close my account, type CLOSE to confirm, and the deletion runs immediately. You do not need to reinstall the app to do this.

Or ask us to delete it

Email support@lyken.dev from the address you signed up with, with the subject Delete my account. We action requests within 30 days and confirm by reply. We may ask you to verify the address if the request arrives from a different one, so that nobody can delete an account that is not theirs.

What gets deleted

If you are the only member of your household, everything goes: your bills and subscriptions, income, buckets, goals, assets and debts, payment history, price-change history, accounts, the decision log, household notes, the continuity plan, your membership record and your sign-in.

If other people share your household, closing your account removes you — your membership and your sign-in — and leaves the household intact for them, because the records belong to the household rather than to any one person. Anything assigned to you is left in place and unassigned. If you want the household and all of its data gone as well, use Delete household data in the Danger zone first, or say so in your email.

What we keep, and for how long

Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. Backups are cycled out within 30 days. Where the law requires us to keep a record — billing and tax records for a paid subscription, for example — we keep only that record and nothing else. Lyken never holds your card details; those sit with Stripe, our payment processor, and are governed by their retention rules.
