Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

Lyken collects only what you enter: your email address and password (for account access), and the financial data you type in — bills, income, assets, debts, and goals. We do not connect to your bank or import transaction data.

2. How we use your data

Your data is used solely to provide the Lyken service: displaying your household’s financial picture, sending due-date reminder emails (if you enable them), and running the AI features against your own numbers.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal or financial data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Data isolation

Each household's data is isolated with server-side row-level security. Users in other households cannot read or modify your records. Household members you invite can only see your household's data, at the access level you assign them.

4. Email reminders

If you enable email reminders, we send a daily digest to the address you nominate. You can disable this at any time from Settings. We do not send marketing emails.

5. AI features

The AI planning feature sends relevant excerpts of your financial data (e.g. income, commitments, goal details) to a third-party large language model to generate responses. This data is used only for that request and is not used to train AI models. Responses are general information, not personal financial advice.

6. Data retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account and all associated data by contacting us. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and server-side access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Product analytics

To understand how Lyken is used and improve it, we record a small number of first-party product-usage events — for example, the marketing source you first arrived from, when the app is opened, and whether you have set up your household. These events are tied only to your account and household identifiers; they never include your financial data, are not shared with third parties, and are not used for advertising. This information is stored within Lyken, not sent to any external analytics service.

9. Advertising & conversion measurement

When we advertise Lyken (for example, on Google), we use Google’s advertising tools — the Google tag and Google Ads — to measure whether an ad led to a sign-up. This may set Google cookies in your browser and shares limited, non-financial signals with Google (such as the fact that a sign-up occurred) for conversion measurement. We never share your financial data with advertising partners. You can manage ad personalisation through Google’s Ad Settings and control cookies in your browser.

10. Cookies & local storage

Lyken uses a session cookie to keep you logged in, and stores small preferences and first-party usage flags in your browser’s local storage (for example, your theme choice and the marketing source you arrived from). While our ads are running, Google’s advertising cookies may also be set to measure ad conversions, as described above.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the date at the top of this page.
